Urban Referrals is a woman-owned business, founded by Marla Selko in 2002. It has been providing reliable, licensed contractors in the DC Metropolitan Area for the past 5 years. Marla's main objective for Urban Referrals was to create a network of screened contractors so homeowners, rental property owners, property managers and others would be able to quickly locate reliable, honest, licensed contractors for their remodeling and renovating needs.
Urban Referrals (unaffiliated with any contractor or repair service) has more than 80 contractors in its network and has provided referrals for more than 4,500 customers.
Urban Referrals’ intense screening process includes verifying the following:
- License(s) and Bonding (as required by state/district)
- Insurance - Liability and Workers Comp
- Customer and Trade References
- Consumer Affairs
