Did you know?

Top loading washers use on average 45 gallons of water per load
What can you do? Free fix... only run the clothes washer when it is completely full. If you can spend some money you can purchase a new energy efficient washer at your local hardware/appliance store.

Leaky air ducts rob energy efficiency and are unhealthy
What does this do? This can cause depressurization of a home, inviting outside air and humidity into the home from unknown sources, leading to serious indoor air quality problems and possibly mold.

A dripping faucet can waste 15-21 gallons of water a day
What can you do? Find a plumber to repair or replace the faucet. Over time, a leaky faucet can cost you hundreds of dollars on your water bill.

Dark roofs absorb heat
What does this mean? Your roof and attic space will get very hot in the summer and will require the use of a radiant barrier. Using lighter colored roofing material is more energy efficient.

Ventilating an attic can cause moisture and humidity problems in area of high humidity like ours, leading to higher energy bills.
How do you fix it? Sealing an attic and ventilating a continuous air space immediately below the roof decking, not the attic is much better.

Dishwashers use 8-14 gallons of water a cycle
What can you do? Just like for the clothes washer only run the dishwasher when it is full and if you have the money, replace it with an energy star rated one instead.
