Marla Selko, a native of Poughkeepsie, NY, is a graduate of Florida International University, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in hospitality management. She spent seven years working in hospitality, at resorts and country clubs, followed by several years working in the IT world before founding Urban Referrals in 2002. In June 2006, she was the recipient of the PNC Capital Award in conjunction with the National Women's Business Center in Washington, D.C.

When she takes a break from Urban Referrals you may find her volunteering in Biloxi with the hurricane relief efforts, visiting family and friends around the country, exploring new restaurants with friends in DC, or taking a yoga class at a local studio.      

Anita Yankova – Marketing & Database Administrator

Anita Yankova was born in a small but beautiful state of Bulgaria.   There she obtained her Bachelors Degree in Marketing and Masters Degree in International Business & Management.   In 2001 Anita moved to Berlin, Germany with her now husband and spent four joyful years taking classes and completed a couple of very interesting internships.  It was the happiest moment in her life when her son was born there.

Always looking for something new and challenging she and her family moved to the Washington, DC area.  Full of energy and new ideas she joined the team at Urban Referrals in September of 2006 to manage their Marketing efforts and Database.  

Erin Foley – Operations Manager

Erin joined Urban Referrals in January 2007 as Operations Manager.  She has spent the past five years working in the construction and remodeling industry. For three of those years Erin worked as an Operations Manager for a kitchen and bath remodeling company and the other two years as an on-site field manager, where she supervised the installation of high-rise and mid-rise condo kitchens and bathrooms.  Her experience will be huge asset to Urban Referrals, our clients and partners.

Erin grew up in Northern Virginia and is a graduate of George Mason University, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice and became a certified paralegal. Despite her degree, Erin currently resides in Herndon, VA, with her fiancé, Tommy, and their two Rottwielers, Lexus and Kahula. When Erin is not at work, you can find her having fun with her family, at the gym or shopping.
